I have come to the conclusion that the leadership of the Democratic Party has swerved so far left it is rabidly anti-American, against traditional American values, and especially anti-free market capitalism. In fact they are just about anti everything that most Americans of my Baby Boomer generation held so dear growing up. I remember singing “Faith of Our Fathers” at Thanksgiving or “Silent Night” at Christmas as a student attending public grammar and high schools in Chicago in the fifties and early sixties. I don’t remember the Jewish kids anyone else feeling offended, singing or not, as was their choice. It just wasn’t that big of a deal? Nobody worried about offending anybody because almost everyone wasn’t offended. The point is that we embraced the traditional American values handed down to us from every generation since the Founder’s. We believed we were part of the greater good known as America. We celebrated being Americans rather than focusing on how we were different from each other. The vast majority of us thanked God that our parents or grandparents immigrated to this country to be part of something special, not to change it. 

Freedom alarms should be sounded about the assault on American values by the Leftist Socialist Democrats. They knew they needed control of information and gained control of most of the major media outlets along with the news manufactured in their propaganda newspaper outlets. If you doubt this, just review the reporting for this whole election cycle? Now they are attempting to coerce Wal-Mart to bow down to their elitist leftist intimidation. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness is only allotted to those belonging to the Beltway power bunch or their rich and powerful allies who can purchase exemption from the Washington, D.C. tyranny being imposed on middle class America. An August 14, 2008 article in the Wall Street Journal was titled; “Unions Seek Probe of Wal-Mart over Election Law” by Kris Maher and Ann Zimmerman. The issue was whether Wal-Mart managers talked with employees on the impact of their votes in the upcoming presidential. Now one must understand that in this country it is legal for Unions to overtly support with their time and money any candidates for any office without regard to the wishes of those members making forced contributions to the union bosses.

Maher and Zimmerman wrote; “Prominent labor groups are seeking an investigation into whether Wal-Mart Stores Inc. violated federal election laws by telling employees that electing Democrats would lead to passage of legislation making it easier to unionize companies.” The article went on to say that it is against Federal Election Law for corporations to endorse or support specific candidates. While Wal-Mart only remarked they warned their employees that Democratic candidates for all offices are supporting a law to suppress the right to secret ballots for union organizers. The secret ballot is a right basic to the American tradition of democracy. Overturning the secret ballot for unions is just more leftist persecution they have perfected since the inception of the Great Society. Like many Socialist Democratic programs, the issue is control by the ruling elite in their ongoing suppression of individual freedom. They don’t care about fairness, or individual freedom, only the expansion of their power.

Even George McGovern is against this invasion of privacy for workers, and he is one of the pioneers of the Leftist Socialist Democratic movement. That is how far left they have continued to move. He wrote an article on August 8 in the Wall Street Journal about this further attack on American rights. “While it is never pleasant to stand against one's party or one's friends, there are times when such actions are necessary -- as with my early and lonely opposition to the Vietnam War. I hope some of my friends in Congress will re-evaluate their support for this legislation. Because as Americans, we should strive to ensure that all of us enjoy the freedom of expression and freedom from fear that is our ideal and our right.”

It is no wonder Socialist Democrats hate Wal-Mart so much; they represent the success of self made entrepreneurs who actually try to provide goods and services to the average American that they want and at reasonable prices. They hate Wal-Mart because it is a symbol of what can be done with free enterprise and they haven’t figured out a way to control Wal-Mart. The same Socialist Democrats stopped Wal-Mart from getting a Bank charter. These are the same people who made the recent raid on the Treasury necessary and then hypocritically announced they were saving banks by bailing them out with our money. Wal-Mart would probably do a better job than WAMU, or the others?

Of course while the Socialist Democrats trash Wal-Mart, they add Billions in their Aid to Financial Institutions for Acorn, a community program to aid the poor in housing while spending taxpayer money to register voters and elect Socialist Democrats. Their housing bill signed by President George W. Bush will provide aid to homeowners. It also gives grants to nonprofit groups and some communities. That “Agency” is nothing more than a subsidiary of the Socialist Democratic Party. More power for Acorn of dubious success and with a checkered past, but they worry about Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart doesn’t cost the government anything, but provides hundreds of thousands of jobs and Billions in tax dollars. So why are Socialist Democrats always attacking Wal-Mart? Wake up, citizens; they will attack anything they don’t control. The more successful an example of free enterprise, the more vicious their attacks!

Wal-Mart and Home Depot have provided Billions in Hurricane and other disaster relief with other provate sector partners such as Home Depot. In many cases their efforts were more efficient and even copied by some governmental relief agencies. Ever see those stories in the Media? Most of the Media wants American’s to look to government for ALL their needs and downplays anything that smacks of free market success. It is all about control, and Socialism is what the Leftists want. They appear poised to take all three branches of the Federal Government. Two hundred plus years of sacrifice and achievement by the Founders and their successors could swept away to satisfy the lust for power of the Socialist poltical class.

The following words have been attributed to Edmund Burke of 1770’s Great Britain; “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.” Whether he or someone else said them isn’t important. The words speak for themselves!. We the people must do something or maybe the next election will have voters marking their votes in public under the oversight of the vote police. They can get those people from the Department of Labor, which will have practice monitoring public union elections at Wal-Mart held without a secret ballot.
